The SMS SITE VSS WRITER service has stopped. Configuration Manager requires this service to record and access necessary data. This condition does not repair itself and must be resolved before Configuration Manager can resume some of its core functions.
This condition typically occurs when:
The computer is shut down or is restarted.
Configuration Manager 2007 is being upgraded with Configuration Manager hotfixes or with Configuration Manager service packs.
The site server is backed up.
The SMS SITE VSS WRITER service is manually shut down.
This alert is best handled by Configuration Manager administrators.
