Monitors the health of the Veeam Backup service
The Veeam Backup Service is not running. This service is a Windows service that coordinates all operations performed by Veeam Backup & Replication such as backup, replication, recovery verification and restore tasks. This service also acts as a WMI provider for the MP for Veeam Backup & Replication and other monitoring solutions.
If the Veeam Backup Service is stopped, WMI source will become inaccessible, monitoring will be stopped and all jobs will fail to start.
The service may have failed to start (for example, after a reboot) due to issues with the service account such as password expiry or account locked.
The service may have been manually stopped.
The service may be in process of upgrade or uninstall.
Check the service status. It should be set to Automatic start, and should be running. If the service is not running, try to start it.
Check event logs for errors.
Check the status of the service account used for the Veeam Backup Service: it may be locked or expired.
