Veeam Backup License Monitor (per-VM license)

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

This monitor tracks the status of the Veeam per-VM license installed on the Veeam Backup & Replication server. This per-VM license is defined as the total number of virtual machines that can be protected by Veeam Backup & Replication.

Causes

The licensed VM count has been exceeded. Veeam Backup & Replication could provide a grace period after the VM limit is breached, and during that period you might perform all types of data protection and disaster recovery operations. However, keep in mind that the duration of the grace period is limited and defined by the type of license, so make sure to contact Veeam Sales and purchase additional licenses before the end of the grace period.

Resolutions

Contact your Veeam partner or sales representative to obtain an updated license file, or decrease the number of protected VMs.
