Veeam VMware: Host IPMI System Event Log Status Alarm

Veeam.Virt.Extensions.VMware.VC41Alarm.HOST.IPMISystemEventLogStatus (UnitMonitor)

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

This monitor tracks the vCenter alarm that monitors the fullness of the IPMI System Event Log.

Causes

This alarm will fire in vCenter, using thresholds defined via the vSphere Client. In general, these alarms will duplicate functionality already available in the Veeam MP, therefore this monitor by default will only set state in order to avoid duplicate alerting.

If this state-tracking is not required, either use an override to disable this monitor, or disable the vCenter alarm at source using the VMware vSphere Client.

Resolutions

Check the status of host hardware to check if there are any failures causing issues with IPMI event log. This alarm may also indicate that your IPMI System log is full. For further information see the VMware KB article The Host IPMI System Event Log Status alarm is triggered repeatedly in VMware vCenter Server 4.x and 5.x (1033725).
