Veeam VMware: Thin-provisioned volume capacity exceeded Alarm

Veeam.Virt.Extensions.VMware.VC5Alarm.DATASTORE.ThinLUNCapacityExceeded (UnitMonitor)

Knowledge Base article:

Summary

This monitor tracks the vCenter alarm that triggers when the thin provisioning threshold on the storage array is exceeded for volume(s) backing the datastore.

Causes

This alarm will fire in vCenter, using triggers defined via the vSphere Client.

By default, this alarm is triggered by the following events:

vCenter Event

Description

com.vmware.vc.sms.ThinProvisionedLunThresholdInitEvent

Storage provider thin provisioning default capacity event.

com.vmware.vc.sms.ThinProvisionedLunThresholdClearedEvent

Storage provider thin provisioning capacity threshold reached.

com.vmware.vc.sms.ThinProvisionedLunThresholdCrossedEvent

Storage provider thin provisioning capacity threshold crossed.

Resolutions

Resolution is dependent on the nature of the event. Use the EventID KB links above to search for more information.

Use the Alerts View to see all current open issues for this object. Use the Events View to review any error and warning events for this object. Open a Performance View to see the performance metrics for this object and all contained objects. Open a Diagram View to analyze the relationships of this object to other components.
