Monitors the state of the Microsoft Audit Collector Service Collector's connection to its database
This monitor and alert indicates that the ACS Collector has problem connecting to the database, and therefore it is unable to record events.
Below is a summary of the default configuration of this monitor:
Red state: Transition to red state if the collector has problem connecting to the database (AdtServer 4618)
Green state: Transition to green state if the collector has successfully connected to the database (AdtServer 4616).
The red state can indicate the following may be happening:
The database server is not online
Network connectivity between the collector and database is lost
The collector's machine account does not have permission to log on to the database.
You can use the below steps to resolve the issue:
Bring the database back online if it is unavailable
Restore network connectivity between collector and database
Ensure the collector's machine account has permission to write to the OperationsManagerAC database. (The collector machine account needs permission because the collector service account runs as Network Service) If the machine account does not have proper permission, then try repairing this by uninstalling and reinstalling the collector.
